The Earl Coffman Papers Collection - {Photocopy set made from Original Documents) Correspondence, notes, and telegrams created predominantly between 1937-1938 pertaining to relations between the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce's Indian Affairs Committee and the Agua Caliente Band of Mission Indians. Important topics include the arrest of the tribal committee, airport lease negotiations between the City of Palm Springs and the Agua Caliente Band, various land sales bills, land allotments, and legal questions regarding the leasing of tribal lands.
